Vortex Surround Encoder is a surround sound utility application that allows you to freely combine and encode several individual sound files into a single multichannel master file. It can handle input and output files in any common channel configuration and it is compatible with the most popular file formats used in surround sound, from binaural headphone encoding all the way to 7.1 and beyond. VSE’s clean and simple user interface allows drag-and-drop importing of files and in-place editing of the most essential sound parameters.
NOTE: A SMALL WORK AROUND IS REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR VSE TO READ ZOOM H2, H4n, and H2n FILE FORMATS. First convert your zoom recordings to AIF or WAV using VZE, iTunes, or Audacity before using VSE.

Very nice indeed. I could hear those double overhead cams whirring. Good job. Avanti Ferrari!

Hi,
The Vortex Surround Encoder (VSE) has more encoding options than the Vortex Zoom Encoder (VZE). VZE was created specifically for use with Zoom H2, but works great with the H4n.
VSE is far more versatile for multichannel content up to 8 channels. It also offers a “glue” and “unglue” option to interleave and de-interleave files. The Surround encoder does not read “broadcase WAV” files which the Zoom recorders create. An easy work around exists by taking the zoom recordings and encoding them as AIF files first.
If you are doing anything in multi-channel audio you might want to try the Vortex Surround Designer.
BTW – All IMR products have a 30 day trial period. Please give them all a try.

Thanks. I only use an H2 (just upgraded to H2N). I will give them a try.
